Kyle Bushey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter-Allen-Myhand on Feb. 25, 2026.
Mr. Kyle Matthew Bushey, of LaGrange, passed away on February 20, 2026. He was born in Springfield, Missouri, on November 8, 1998, to Shonna Yawn and Jason Yawn.

Kyle enlisted in the United States Marines right out of high school. It was his dream from a young age to serve his country, and he proudly fulfilled that calling. After his service in the Marines, Kyle worked as a tower climber and millwright. Most recently, he was pursuing his goal of becoming an EMT and volunteer firefighter, continuing his desire to serve and help others.

Kyle was spontaneous and an absolute blast to be around. He was a handsome and confident soul who loved making people smile and laugh. Friends and family describe him as having a soft core with a hard exterior. He never met a stranger and could make friends wherever he went. Kyle loved his animals, listening to his music loud, playing video games with friends, being outdoors, traveling, and chasing new adventures.

He is survived by his mother, Shonna Yawn; his father, Jason Yawn; his spouse, Kyra Richarz; his grandparents, Judy and Rusty Yawn; his brothers, Jacob Robinson, Michael Everett (Payden Stewart), and Cody Yawn; his niece, Lennon Everett; his beloved companions, Athena, Ash, and Appa; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.

Kyle was preceded in death by his cousins, Tyler Savage and Chase Savage; his grandmother, Dottie Bassett; his great-grandparents, Tadpole and Gene Yawn; and his best friend and loyal supporting dogs, Rocket and Rocky.

The funeral service will be held at Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter-Allen-Myhand at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, with Pastor Don Ellison officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until service time. A burial service with a chaplain will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia, following the service.

The family would like to offer an opportunity during the memorial service for anyone who would like to share memories or words about Kyle to do so.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to Face The Fight in honor of Kyle Bushey.

Shonna, I haven't seen you or Kyle for a long time and lost touch with you. I heard about you losing Kyle though and I am so sorry for your loss. I know it must be really painful and difficult to deal with it. I can't image what you are going through and feeling right now and I wish I could take away some of your pain. I'm proud of Kyle having had what it takes to become a Marine and serve his country. He was a good person. I will you keep you and your family in my prayers. I hope you are able to smile again soon.
