Catherine "Sam" I. Woodfin, 42, of Lawrence, passed away on September 11, 2025. Born in Beverly, she was the beloved daughter of Clifford Woodfin Jr. and the late Catherine "Katie" E. Woodfin.

Sam was cherished for her joyous nature and infectious spirit. Above all else, she adored her sons and devoted her life to them. She was unapologetically herself-goofy, affectionate, and full of love.

A gifted writer with dreams of becoming an author, Sam leaves behind the treasured words of her journals, a lasting piece of her heart, dreams, and imagination. She also delighted in playing dress-up with her nieces, sharing her flair for fashion, creativity, and fun.

She is survived by two sons, Lucas and Andrew, and their father, Marcos Melo of Haverhill; her father, Clifford Woodfin Jr. of Brooksville, FL; her brothers, James Woodfin and his wife, Jessica of Rowley, and David Woodfin of Beverly; her sister, Jennifer Phillips and her husband, Patrick of Evans, GA; her cherished Uncle Joseph Hill; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. She is predeceased by her mother; beloved Aunt Margaret Tito; Uncle Jake Hill; and many loving family members.

Her funeral service will be held at Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Tuesday, September 23 at 11am, followed by a reception. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Monday, September 22 from 4pm to 7pm.
