Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors on Dec. 3, 2025.
Catherine Wynn, 90, of Pine Bluff, died peacefully Monday, December 1, 2025, at Trinity Village Medical Center after eating breakfast and getting dressed, as if she was preparing to meet God.
An obituary cannot adequately describe the most important person in our lives-she was our mother and our hero, our strength, an incredible friend and traveling partner, and the person who helped make us the people we have become. She gave us the confidence and capability to do the tough things in life, even when things seemed impossible. Always optimistic, smiling, and singing everywhere she went, she faced life's challenges with determination, a sense of responsibility, and great devotion to her family, community, and faith.
Catherine was born March 26, 1935, in Nampa, Idaho, the third of seven children, to parents Lawrence Joseph Aulbach and Erma Grace Frew Aulbach. She grew up in Mountain Home, Idaho. She met her future husband, who was stationed at the Air Force base there, in 1952. Her sister Shirley was also dating an airman, and the couples had a double wedding on February 14, 1953. The young family welcomed Ramona Catherine in 1953, and they lived in two-bedroom home rented from her Aunt Elsie.
The family moved to Madison, Florida, shortly after Ramona was born and lived there until 1957, when they relocated to Pine Bluff for a job opportunity. Shadrick Mitchell was born in 1966, followed by Joseph Clarence in 1973. Catherine adored her children and would do anything for them.
Catherine worked at the Dollarway School cafeteria for 28 years. She had immense pride in her work and knew it was important. She enjoyed the students, decorating bulletin boards for holidays. She worked during summers in the Trinity Village kitchen, which she truly enjoyed. Her standards for cleanliness went above and beyond expectations. In her spare time, she volunteered with Volunteers in Public School and the Pine Bluff School District.
She thrived in community engagement, especially with her church, friends, and children. She was a Girl Scout troop leader, cookie chairman, and helper at their day camp. Catherine was a devout Catholic and member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and was recording secretary and member of the Altar Society. She looked forward to cooking for the St. Joseph spaghetti suppers. She was a member of the church choir-she loved to sing anywhere and everywhere throughout her life, including daily sessions at the piano with Fred Arnold at Trinity Village when she first arrived. She was an active member of the Buzzin' Dozen for many years, a women's group from St. Joseph Church that met monthly, played bingo, shared meals, and enjoyed time in fellowship. She was also in a bowling league with her friend Gertie. She was very competitive and had to win.
At home, she made things beautiful and comfortable. She was an excellent artist and even sold a few of her paintings. Her favorite pastime was reading-she was a speed reader and sometimes would have three books going at a time (and one of those books would be her daily devotional). She collected teapots and had approximately 75. She was a wonderful cook and especially loved to bake at Christmas, her favorite holiday. She made sure her family had the biggest and best Christmases, with a home full of friends, family, and even more presents. Her cooking skills were also enjoyed on the many camping and cross-country trips the family would take together during summers and school breaks-she took pride in packing and later preparing all the meals.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Donna Aulbach (Jeanne Clevinger), Shirley Dylan (Harry), Bob Aulbach, and Joyce Shablo (Paul); her parents; and an infant son, Joseph Lawrence, and her ex-husband, Porky Wynn.
Survivors include her siblings Renee Koberlien (Carl), David Aulbach (Melodee), and sister-in-law Lynn Aulbach; her children Ramona Green (Scott McGeorge), Shad Wynn (Christi), and Joseph Wynn; and her grandchildren Wallace Joiner (Matthew), Anna Claire Wynn (Ryley), and Ethan Wynn; and her great grandchildren Estelle Joiner, and Preston Joiner.
We thank you all for your care, support, and prayers. Special thanks to Meals on Wheels at Area Agency on Aging, which allowed Catherine to stay in her home longer; Trinity Village Asst. Living staff Valeria, Denise, Ashley, Flossie, Tasha, Pam, Sam, Tiffanye, and others who went overboard to keep mom there as long as possible-cannot thank you enough; and Trinity Village Medical Center staff JJ, Ricky, Elsie, Kassie, Ramona, Patricia, Shirley, Omego, Emma Jean, and others. Ramona wants to thank Scott, who paved this road with love and support; her cherished friends Harriet, Shiela, Mary Shannon, Pam, Rodrick, and Denise, who helped as her Mama's health declined; and her bonus daughter Wallace. Most importantly, thanks to God and his angels.
Mama, may you find peace, happiness, and may heaven be everything you thought it would be.
