Cathie Marie LaLonde

Cathie Marie (Glowacki) LaLonde passed on October 25 after a valiant fight with pancreatic cancer. She was born to Theodore and Mildred (Bluemer) Glowacki on October 9, 1942, in Saginaw, MI, where she lived until the family moved in 1949 to Dice Road in Thomas Township. Some of her early education, 2nd through 4th grades, took place in the 2-room schoolhouse on Dice Corners. She had begun her education in 1st grade at SS Peter and Paul School, returned there in fifth grade and graduated in 1960. She married Forrest 'Bill' LaLonde on August 20, 1960, and they celebrated 65 years together. They welcomed two sons to their family, Douglas and Terry. For 25 years, she was employed at Atherton Electric and then Delta College. They resided on Dice Road in Thomas Township until their move to Arizona in 1986 to follow their sons. She was employed at Mesa Community College until she became the True Blue Pools office manager and bookkeeper from which she retired in 2025 due to poor health. While in MI, they were both involved in the Shields Area Jaycees and Jaycettes. In AZ, she joined the Los Noches Women's Club, and they belonged to the Desert Corvette Association where they made many friends while participating in the club's events. Cathie was a spouse, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who never forgot a birthday and cherished time with her family and friends. She loved playing cards, games and working jigsaw puzzles.
Cathie is survived by her husband Forrest William LaLonde and sons Douglas (Debi) LaLonde of Gilbert, AZ, and Terry (Pam) LaLonde of Chandler, AZ; 3 grandchildren – Cassidy (Jordan) Pingree, Cheyanna LaLonde and Justin LaLonde; 3 great-grandchildren – Emma, Oakley and Maverick Pingree. She is also survived by her sister Karla (Dick) Holmes, Adrian, MI, and sister-in-law Jeanne Krugielki, Saginaw, MI, and many nieces and a nephew. She was predeceased by her parents.
Memorial Service for Cathie will be held on Monday, November 17 at 10:00 am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 3550 E Knox Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85044. An interment service will be held in the spring at Chapel Hill Mausoleum & Cemetery in Freeland, MI 49823.
