Cathleen Rogers Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Michaelson Funeral Home - Owatonna on Feb. 13, 2026.
Cathleen (Cathy) Karen Rogers, 83, of Owatonna, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026, at her home in the comfort of friends and family.

She was born August 20, 1942, in Monticello, Minnesota at the family home, to Clifford Sr. and Bernice "Bonnie" (Ruff) Knutson. Her family names her the "Miracle Baby" due to her having a severe infection at one year old and surviving a fever induced coma for several days. She attended the country school in Wright County before transferring to Wilmer and then to the Minnesota State School in Cambridge to complete her education. While in Cambridge she was their beauty queen her last year. Cathy spent many years working at Cedar Valley Services, Inc., until her retirement. Cathy survived many health miracles during her lifetime with courage, faith and a beautiful smile.

Cathy had an extraordinary gift of being able to sing, play piano and accordion all without taking any lessons and just by listening to the music. She played and sang in church and with family/friends. She enjoyed playing polka music with her grandparents. Cathy also loved to write letters to family and friends, especially around the holidays, and they looked forward to seeing what she had to share with them. Cathy was the glue to the family; she kept everyone in good spirits and showed everyone a whole new meaning and outlook on life. She was known by her family as a woman of faith with a deep love for God, family and friends.

She is survived by her siblings, Cindy (and Lawrence) Sullinger and her children, Michael, Michelle, Matthew, Melissa; Cliff Knutson Jr. and his children, Tommy, Krista, Dustin, Heather; Candee (and Bosse) Bergquist and their children, Paul and Peter; Carol (and Ron) Olson and their children, Renae and Ryan; Cregg Knutson and his children, Chantel, Cassie, and Crissie. She will be dearly missed by many nephews, nieces, friends, family including her REM Lincolnwood family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford, Sr. and Bernice "Bonnie" Knutson, and niece, Rachelle Karissa Olson.

Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 10AM to 11AM, with a service at 11AM
