Cathryn Ann Burrell

Cathryn Ann Whitmire Burrell, age 76, of Clayton, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. She was born on December 10, 1948, to the late D.L. Whitmire and Mamie Lee Crone Whitmire.

Cathryn was a devoted member of Black Rock Baptist Church, faithfully attending every service her health would allow. She spent many of her days reading her Bible and singing songs of praise to the Lord. Above all, she cherished her family—especially her grandchildren—and treasured every moment she could spend with them.

She is survived by her son, Ronnie Burrell and his wife Monesa of Clayton, GA; grandchildren, Megan Norton and her husband Michael, and Ryan Burrell, both of Clayton, GA; siblings, Buddy Whitmire, David Whitmire, Susan Burrell, Bobby Whitmire, and Ronald Whitmire; and a special niece, Melissa White and her husband Tony, along with their daughter, Shay. Several other nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Whitmire.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Burrell officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hunter Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Timpson Cove Cemetery.
