Cathryn Keeling McAvoy, 62, of Avery, Texas, passed away on December 9, 2025. She was born on June 20, 1963, in Show Low, Arizona.

Cathryn was a devoted homemaker whose greatest joy came from caring for her family. She loved to read, crochet, spend time with her children and grandchildren, and was always up for a day of shopping or a quiet evening watching her favorite shows.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Keeling of Avery, TX; her daughter and son-in-law, Janetta and Jimmy Smith of Arkansas; and her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Brittney Horn of Haworth, OK.

Cathryn leaves behind a beloved group of grandchildren: Jacob Smith; Justin and Rhiannon Smith of Arkansas; Pam Crosby; Levi Crosby; and Rykor Crosby of Haworth, OK; and Robin and Casey Simpson of New Boston, TX.
She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Audrey Currens, Christopher Simpson, Izabella Simpson of New Boston, TX; and Thomas Reaves of Arkansas.

She is survived by her sisters, Cathy Martinez of Haworth, OK, and Cindy McAvoy of Haworth, OK; and her brother, Jimmy Sill of Cowen, West Virginia, and special friends Kathy and Jesse Nichols and family, many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews that she loved and cherished.

Cathryn was preceded in death by her mother, Ellen McAvoy; her father, Mac McAvoy; mother in law Bonnie Keeling, her brothers, Thomas McAvoy and Mac Jr. McAvoy and Mark McAvoy; sister-in-law Penny McAvoy; brother-in-law Tony Martinez; and great-niece Cailynn Misener.

A private immediate-family service will be held on Friday, December 12th at 1:00 p.m. A public memorial service will be announced at a later date. She will be laid to rest at the memorial service at Blackland Cemetery in Foreman AR.

Her family will forever remember her love, warmth, and the simple joys she shared with everyone she met.
Arrangements are entrusted to Tri-State Cremation and Funeral Services.
