Cathy Brown Obituary

"Cathy Jean" Keele Brown

October, 16th 1958 to August, 11th 2025

Midvale, UT-Cathy was born on October 16th, 1958 in Price, UT to Elfredia Victoria Orlandi and Lloyd Odell Keele. She is survived by her husband, Don and her daughter Caycee (Clancy Holz) as well as her sister Tracy (Rick) Collins. She is also survived by dozens of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews as well as innumerable friends and coworkers who considered her family too. Cathy was loved by anyone who knew her and anyone who knew her would tell you that she always spoke her mind and never pulled punches. She was a feisty and fiery Italian who always lived life to the fullest and never backed down from a challenge. Cathy worked in the medical field for 35 years as a surgical assistant and being in surgery was one of the places she loved being most. Cathy also had the pleasure of being a Brighton Ski Patrol Volunteer for many years and made herself a family within that community as well. In her later career she worked for an insurance exchange (WTW) in South Jordan for 13 years in their escalations department helping people deal with some of their most difficult insurance issues in any way she could. She was one of four generations of oil painters in her family and won many awards over the years for her artistic skill. She loved Waylon Jennings and his words and lyrics spoke to her as much as his voice did. "There's always one more way to do things, and that's your way" ~ Waylon Jennings. Cathy always did things her own way and she taught many of us how to do the same. She was a mother to anyone who knew her and a friend and support system to anyone who needed it. She always used to say that "there is a difference between a handout and hand up" and she and her husband Don never hesitated to give a hand up to anyone they could. Per her wishes, Cathy will be cremated and a memorial in her honor will be scheduled for a later date. Cathy was such a neat lady, I enjoyed working with her and tapping into her wealth of knowledge. I can still hear her voice. My condolences to both Don and Caycee for your loss.

This is the 7th verse from the hymn, "Come come ye saints" And should we die before our journey's through
Happy day! All is well!
We then are free from toil and sorrow, too
With the just we shall dwell! (and the final verse) Happy day! All is well!
All is well! Those of us who have lost our loved one know what is in your broken hearts. We bless your broken hearts but remember "Happy day! All is well!
All is well!" Also "The 4th verse from "God be with you til we meed again. "God be with you till we meet again;
keep love´s banner floating o´er you,
smite death´s threat´ning wave before you;
God be with you till we meet again."

Caycee and Don, our hearts go out to you on the loss of your amazing Mom and Wife.

Cathy is going to be missed beyond any description of words. I will miss my Friend, and my co-worker for the last 13 years. I will miss her saying everything and anything that was on her mind, her laugh and her smile and the stories of how much she loves you Caycee and Don.

1 year for Halloween at work.
She will always be around you. So much love to you both
