Cathy L. Cameron, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on December 21, 2025, in Vandalia, Ohio, at the age of 73. Born on July 28, 1952, in Norton, Virginia, Cathy lived a life marked by her caring nature, loving spirit, and unwavering dedication to helping others.
Cathy spent 55 wonderful years with her husband, Ronald Cameron, creating memories that spanned across the country. Together, they enjoyed traveling and frequently visited their favorite getaway in Las Vegas. Their adventures brought joy not only to them but also to their family, who witnessed their love and companionship blossom through the years.
Cathy’s heart was as expansive as her love for her family. She is survived by her son, Scot Cameron and his wife Darla, daughter, Valerie Gamble and her fiancée Mark, along with grandchildren: Michael, Matthew, Luke, Zachary Kennard, Cameron Gamble, and Brooke Gamble. Cathy also cherished her many great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and laughter. Cathy is also survived by her beloved cat Tilly whom she spoiled.
In addition to her immediate family, Cathy is remembered for her deep commitment to charity. She made it a point to support numerous causes, particularly those benefiting the food pantry and organizations dedicated to improving the lives of people in Appalachia. Her charitable actions returned smiles to many faces and strengthened the bonds of her community.
Cathy is reunited in spirit with her beloved son Adam Cameron, parents Don & Virginia Collier, brother Steve Collier, and father-in-law and mother-in-law Ronald & Janet Cameron.
Her life was rooted in faith and generosity, significant elements that shaped her passionate and warm personality. Cathy will be lovingly remembered, not only for her unwavering care but also for the indelible mark she left on the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 1-2pm at the Woodland Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel,118 Woodland Ave, Dayton, OH 45409. The service will follow at 2pm, then Cathy will be laid to rest at the cemetery.
