Cathy Elaine Corey

MARGARETTSVILLE, NC - Cathy "Cat" Elaine Edwards Corey, beloved wife, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Margarettsville, Northampton County, North Carolina, on December 26, 2025. She was 73 years old.
Cathy was born on March 10, 1952, in Roanoke Rapids, Halifax County, North Carolina, to the late Raymond Earl Edwards and Margaret Woodard Edwards.
Throughout her life, Cathy was known for her love of adventure and passion for life. Her career spanned many years at International Paper, where she worked diligently as a Quality Control operator before enjoying a well-deserved retirement. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Cathy had a zest for life that was reflected in her many interests and hobbies.
An avid horse lover and enthusiastic flyer, Cathy took pride in achieving her solo flying license. She shared a mutual love for motorcycling with her beloved husband, Karl, with whom she spent 56 joyful years attending bike weeks and creating lasting memories. One of her cherished pastimes was mowing the grass, an activity she affectionately referred to as her "alone time."
Cathy also delighted in cooking and was a member of the Sharon Methodist Church, where she became a member as a young girl.
Cathy is survived by her devoted husband, Karl Corey; her brother, Michael Edwards, and his wife, Regina, of Jacksonville, NC; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family, and countless friends who were blessed to know her.
