Jerry Winston Bunch

COLERAIN, NC - Jerry Winston Bunch, age 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Ahoskie Health and Rehab in Hertford County, North Carolina, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on January 28, 1942, in Hertford County, Jerry was the beloved son of the late Leslie Winston Bunch and Ruby Peele Bunch.
Jerry dedicated many years of his life to working for Beasley Oil Company, where he traveled extensively, repairing and installing gas pumps and assisting in the building of new Red Apple Markets. His work was characterized by dedication and a diligent spirit.
A man of simple pleasures, Jerry found immense joy and tranquility in fishing, especially along the Chowan River. Known as an avid bass fisherman, the peacefulness of the river offered him solace and contentment. He cherished his time at Colerain Beach, often driving down to sit in his truck, admiring the serene view of the river.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his son Mark Edward Bunch, his sister Phyllis Copeland, and his brother David Leslie Bunch. His memory will live on through those he leaves behind, his sister Sheran White and her husband Greg of Colerain, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and his devoted friend Mary Waicul.
A graveside celebration of his life will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Colerain, North Carolina.
