Cathy Sue Smith Crouse, 70, of Greensboro, journey with CNS Lymphoma came to a close on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the UNC Medical Center of Chapel Hill.
She was born February 17, 1956, in High Point, to the late Walter Franklin Smith and the late Cora Ellen Smith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Randy Crouse (April 25, 2021); sister, Ella Mae Armfield; and her brother, James Ray Smith.
Cathy was a member of Poplar Ridge Friends Meeting and was a devoted cosmetologist and entrepreneur in the Archdale/Trinity area for over forty years. She also loved visiting the high country of North Carolina and enjoyed any time spent with her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory; her son, Chad Crouse and wife Anna Ruth of Thomasville; daughter, Leslie Crouse Fussell and husband Mike of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Baylee Crouse, William Fussell, and Harrison Fussell; sisters, Dot Dills, and Barbara Steil; and several nieces and nephews.
Per request, a private graveside service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to UNC Lineberger Foundation; UNC Health Foundation, Attn: Lineberger; PO Box 1050, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.
