Cathy Horton Drumwright, age 69, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, passed away on October 18, 2025. Born in Norfolk, VA on October 17, 1956, Cathy lived a life marked by love, devotion, and a deep commitment to her family and community.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert L. Horton; her mother, Dorothy Horton; and her beloved granddaughter, Grace Newby. Cathy is survived by her devoted husband, Ken Drumwright; her loving daughters, Leigh Lamb (Kevin), Emily Garrett (Stephen), and Abby Newby (Josh); and her cherished grandchildren, Braydon Lamb, Addison Lamb, Ellie Garrett, Olivia Garrett, Margaret Newby, and Theodore Newby.
Cathy most enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with warmth and joy. She utilized her creative talents by baking birthday and wedding cakes for her loved ones, as well as baking and decorating cookies with her grandchildren.
With over 30 years as a dedicated teacher, Cathy inspired countless students and colleagues. She found great fulfillment in her Bible study group and was an active member of her church, serving faithfully in church leadership and development.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 4-7 pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home (353 E. Main St. Hendersonville, TN 37075) and again on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 1-2 pm at Christ Methodist Church (118 Anderson Ln., Hendersonville, TN 37075). The funeral service for Cathy will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 2 pm at Christ Methodist Church (118 Anderson Ln., Hendersonville, TN 37075). Burial will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens (353 E. Main St., Hendersonville, TN 37075).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Christ Methodist Church in Cathy’s memory. Contributions may be sent to P.O. Box 1114, Hendersonville, TN 37077.
Cathy’s legacy of love, generosity, and service will continue to touch the lives of all who knew her.
