Cathy Edly

Funeral services celebrating the life of Catherine "Cathy" A. Edly, 63, of Granville, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 11 A.M., Monay, August 14, 2023, with Chaplain Cory Campbell as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the funeral home, 2-4 P.M., Sunday, August 13, 2023.
Cathy died at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. She was born in Newark, Ohio on February 22, 1960, to the late John C. Edly and Marguerite (Bowman) Edly
A 1978 graduate of Newark High School, Cathy attended Kent State where she also played softball. She received her MBA from the University of Dayton and held a long career in Human Resources, working with G.E., Holophane, MSC, Liebert, and was the current HRBP and Personnel Manager with Covestro.
Cathy attended St. Francis de Sales Church and enjoyed gardening, boating, and golf. She was a history enthusiast and liked to tackle projects around the home.
She will be greatly missed by her longtime companion, Jan Christman, and her daughter, Jamie (David) Lama; brother, Robert "Bob" Edly; sisters, Karen (Jim) Dellner, Chris (Carl R.) Litts, and Kathy (Roger) McClain; aunts, Mary Bowman and Donna Edly; cousins; many nieces and nephews; and her precious puppies, JoJo and Ellie.
In addition to her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by her stepmother, Marilyn (Winters) Edly; uncles, Joseph Edly and Don Bowman; and aunt, Grace Bowman Thomas.
