Catherine P. “Cathy” Kendig, 71, of Covington, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 7, 2025, at Kettering Health Dayton. She was born September 8, 1954, in Piqua, to the late Ralph and Margaret (Bosserman) Boehringer. She married Ronald Robert “Bob” Kendig on November 10, 1973; he survives.
She will also be missed and remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael (Angie) Kendig of Covington; two grandchildren, Ethan Kendig and Emma (Jordan) Bowman; a great-grandson, Asher Bowman; siblings Rosie Boyer of Covington and Butch Boehringer of Covington; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Kendig; and siblings Jim Boehringer and John Boehringer.
Cathy was a 1972 graduate of Covington High School. She worked in the Covington Elementary School cafeteria, and was the office manager and an agent for the former Tom Smith Nationwide Insurance Agency of Covington. She enjoyed flower gardening and doing yard work. But she most loved time spent with her grandchildren and her best friend and love of her life, Bob.
Private funeral services for her family were held at Moore Funeral Home, Covington, with Pastor Dale Scott officiating. Private burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
