Frances Patricia Kendig (Ballard)

December 20, 2025 | Columbus, Ohio

Frances Patricia Kendig passed away on December 20, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. She spent many years in Mount Sterling, Ohio, where she built a life marked by connection, independence, and a steady, practical outlook.

Pat truly never met a stranger. She enjoyed conversation and took genuine interest in the people she met, forming connections wherever she went. Business-minded and tech-savvy throughout her life, she adapted easily as times changed. She found enjoyment in photography, puzzling, NASCAR, and fishing trips to Dale Hollow Lake, Tennessee, and she had a special place in her heart for caring for animals.

She remained actively involved in the family transportation business until her passing, staying engaged and hands-on. Pat loved a full house and cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Holidays, especially Christmas, held a special meaning for her and was a time she enjoyed sharing with family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Kendig Jr.; her son, Earl Kendig III; her brothers, Clarance Barnett and Lowell Barnett; and her sisters, Carol White and Kay Salyer.

She is survived by her children: Vicki Wike (Russell Wike), Ken Kendig (Edye Bartholomew), Sheri Grago (Chuck Grago), Jim Kendig (Tiffani Kendig), and John Kendig (Denise Kendig); her brother, Ron Ballard; her cousin, Bertine Dolkowski; her grandchildren: Jennifer Berus, Russell Wike Jr., Sarah Cuccaro, Nicole Martinez, Patrick Kendig, Whitnee Murray, Cody Kendig, Marleena Clark, Laura Cua, Jordan Irwin, Tanner Kendig, Emma Kendig, Skylar Speakman, Kyle Kendig, and Tyler Kendig; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 30, 2025 from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. South Chapel, 1346 S. High St. in Columbus, OH. Pastor Jim Blankenship will officiate. Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, OH.
