Cathy Lynn Maloney Krone

Cathy Lynn (Maloney) Krone, age 65, of Erie, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Hamot Hospital In Erie, PA after a long hard fight with cancer.

Born in Johnstown, PA on December 6, 1958, daughter of the late Ralph and Caroline (Kotelnicki) Maloney. Cathy was a 1976 graduate of Academy High School in Erie, PA. She spent her lifelong career raising kids, helping others get by, and working in the restaurant and food industry.

In her retirement, she re-discovered her artistic side and began to create and sculpt glass yard ornamentation and decor from vintage glass dishes and other household remnants. Her love of reusing beautiful discarded materials and up-cycling it into works of art led her into making many new friendships and acquaintances through her selling at the Waterford Flea Market and craft show venues in the Erie area.

In addition to her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by her husband, Karl F. Krone; and daughter, Sarah. She is survived by two sons, Richard Krone (John Champagne) and Max T. Krone II (Mary Prather).

She is survived by her many (8) siblings included in order of age, Ralph Maloney (Dilene), Joan Marques (Joe), Nadine Maloney, Rose Mroczkowski (Donald), Diane Batche (Larry), Carolyn Kaliszewski (Kevin), Jennifer Polaski (Rick), Rachel Maloney-Joyner (Matthew).

Cathy's many friends may gather at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Wednesday, February 7th, from 3 to 4 pm to remember her with her friends and family.??Memorial contributions may be made in Cathy's name to the ANNA Shelter, 1555 East 10th Street, Erie, PA 16511.
