Cecil R. Baker, age 88, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026. Born on March 6, 1937, in Covington, Kentucky, he was the beloved son of Leonard Baker and Nora Flynn (nee McGeorge).
Cecil was preceded in death by his loving mother, Nora Flynn; father, Leonard Baker; granddaughter, Heaven Baker; brother, Ralph Baker; and sister, Joyce Roell. He is survived by his cherished wife, Sue Baker (nee Baker), and their two sons, Douglas J. Baker (Susan) and Michael K. Baker (Lori). Cecil’s legacy continues through his grandchildren: Shelby (Robert Rodriguez) Baker, Brady (Annie) Baker, Austin Baker, Rachel Baker; as well as his great-grandchildren, Graham Baker and Mia Baker. He also leaves behind his brother Corky Baker (Debi) and sister Ann Smith (Don), along with a host of family members and friends who will dearly miss him.
Cecil had a passion for life, which was reflected in his love for golfing and fishing. He enjoyed taking drives along country roads and cherished trips to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
In honor of Cecil’s memory, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s's Children's Hospital and the Alzheimer's Association. A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 12, 2026, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northern Kentucky Chapel, located at 4350 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, Kentucky 41018.
