Cecil Bishop Obituary
Graveside Services for Mrs. Cecil Marie (Bootsie) Bishop, 86, of Monroe, Louisiana, will be 11:00 AM Monday, September 25, 2023, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Mike Holloway officiating.
Mrs. Bishop was born July 14, 1937 in Crenshaw, Mississippi and walked into the arms of Jesus, Friday, September 22, 2023 in West Monroe, Louisiana. She was valedictorian of Monticello High School and a member of Swartz Baptist Church.
Mrs. Bishop loved her family and spending time with her family and grandkids. She loved cooking for family and always had a pot of coffee ready for family and friends. She loved fishing with her husband and catching more than him. She was a devoted Christian who loved reading her bible and going to church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert V Bishop, Sr.; parents, Cecil and Mildred Kizer; her sister, Robbie Kizer; her sister and brother-in-law, Minnie and Tom Bing; and her best friend of 60 years, Joanne Kennedy.
Survivors include her son, Robert “Bobby” Bishop, Jr. and wife Patricia; granddaughters, Christy Bishop, Nikki Wiggins and husband Byron, Tia Van and husband John; great-grandchildren, Bowden Varino, Shawnsey Wiggins, Drew Wheeler, Ava Sowards-Bishop, Ethan Van, Jaden Van, Kaleb Van; great-great-grandson, Karter Singleton. Also a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mike Wheeler, John Van, Bowden Varino, Shawnsey Wiggins, Drew Wheeler, and Nikki Wiggins.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Landmark Nursing Home and Ascent Hospice for their care of Mrs. Bishop.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 10:30AM Monday, September 25, 2023, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.
