Dear Family of Cecil Brooks,
I would like to extend my sincerest sympathy for your loss. It is truly a deep loss because Cecil was such a wonderful person, friend, mentor, aunt, helper, and much much more. I had the honor of working with Cecil at DMV and she taught us many things in her roles as a driver license examiner but the most significant lessons she taught us was to be kind and to always help our fellow man. She will remain in my heart as one of the best driver license examiners we ever had at DMV and one of the best friends you could ever have.
Sincerely,
Judy L. Vesely

Dear Alma "Sister" - Bobby and family, I worked with "Brooks" at the Richmond DMV for years (70's) and we remained friends for many years after. She was my mentor as well as my friend and I will miss her dearly. She was always thinking of others and never met a stranger. One heck of a lady! My condolences to the family....I will always remember my good friend - Love, "Smith" (as she called me)

Dear Alma, Gerry, Bobby and family..
Our hearts were saddened to learn of Cecil's homegoing...and at the same time glad she no longer suffers. Cecil was family to all of us. Our children grew up with Cecil around and all of us loved her. Cecil was a loving, kind, and sensitive woman who will be missed by her family and friends.
Alma....I know you will miss her tremendously but we will be praying for you and the family. Find comfort in knowing she is with the Lord, family who went before her, and Mom who has been waiting with a long list of things for them to do!
May the God of all comfort be especially near to you in the days to come.
Our love and prayers,

Dear Alma, Gerry, Bobby and Family,
My heart is heavy after hearing of Cecil's passing. What a wonderful lady she was. I've known her all my life because she and Elsie (my grandmother) were best friends. I have so many fond memories of the two of them and myself spending time together. Ones that I will cherish always. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time. Cecil often told me that she missed my grandmother and so did I. Now Nanny is taking her by the arm and showing her all around heaven today! Find comfort in knowing she has gone to be with her Lord and Savior. She was a wonderful servant to HIM and many here on earth. She finds rest in HIS arms tonight.
Love to all you!

We grew up on Leigh Street... My brother Rusty and I seemed to get into trouble every once and a while. One day, Rusty and I pulled the fire alarm on the building at Leigh and Altamont. The fire trucks came and so did everyone else. Back then, neighbors would wake up in the middle of the night to follow fire trucks to possible fires. Well, the guy that used to own that building pointed at my brother and me and said "Those boys there stood on their bikes and pulled that alarm". My mom, Barbara was very mad at us, but Cecil looked at my mom and said "Barbara, don't you beat those boys". That's what happened in those days, but not that day, thanks to Cecil.
She will be missed.
