Cecil Bernard Burris, lifelong Oklahoma City resident, was born January 6, 1963 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Ola Mae (Lewis) Burris and Rastus Burris.
Bernard accepted Christ at a young age. He attended Northwest Classen High School in Oklahoma City. Bernard enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle, nephew and friend. He loved playing dominoes and listening to old school R&B music and irritating the ones he loved.
Throughout his life, Bernard became a father to Kimyetta Hawkins, Cecil Bernard Burris, Jr, DeAngela Taylor and Cheyenne Smith . Bernard spent over 30 years with the love of his life, Felicia. Bernard enjoyed rough-housing and spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Bernard was preceded in death by his mother, Ole Mae (Lewis) Burris, his father, Rastus Burris and siblings, Ola Burris, Pamela Burris and Riley Burris.
Bernard leaves behind his other siblings, Alvin Burris, Sr., Roy Lee Lewis, Belva Burris, Wendell Johnson, Dorothy Burris, and Herman Wise. In addition, Bernard left behind his children, Kimyetta Hawkins, Cecil Bernard Burris Jr., DeAngela Taylor and Cheyenne Smith; his grandchildren, Clannesha Hawkins, Joey Taylor, Treyvon Taylor, Elisha Taylor and Aaliyah Taylor. Finally, Bernard leaves behind his great-grandchildren, Keymorien Hawkins and Kyzhir Hawkins.
