Cecil Leroy Cook, a very intelligent man that loved to joke about many things, died October 14, 2024. Cecil, 87 of Potterville, was born September 29, 1937 in the family home in West Windsor to Jason and Ica (Daggett) Cook. He graduated from Charlotte High School in 1958. In 1959 he married Wanda Whitinger and together they raised their five children with many adventures including visiting every lighthouse in Michigan. Cecil was happiest when he was busy. He worked at GM for 33 years, as well as helping neighbors with their farming. Some of the outdoor activities he enjoyed included gardening, canning tomatoes and beans from his garden, fishing, hunting (both bow and gun) to provide venison for his family, and trips up north. When he couldn't be outdoors, he enjoyed indoor activities like woodworking, watching the Detroit Lions, the History Channel, and the Cooking channel, and listening to music.
Cecil is survived by his children, Debra (Arthur) Rouse, Teresa Robinson, John (Cathy) Cook, Scott Cook, and Sharon Willis; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was predeceased by his wife, Wanda Cook; granddaughter, Casey Willis; great-grandson, Aiden Schafer; great-granddaughter, Paisley Cook; son-in-law, Bruce Robinson; his parents; and siblings, Ellis, Harold, Victor, and Laverne Cook.
Friends are encouraged to support Cecil's family by attending services or sharing memories on his Tribute Page at www.prayfuneral.com. Visitation is Wednesday, October 23, 12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m. with funeral services immediately following at 2:00 p.m. at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte with Pastor Andy Shaver officiating.
