Cecil Davison

Cecil Davison Jr., affectionately known as CJ, was born on February 20, 1978, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Donetta Sellers and Cecil Davison Sr. Throughout his life, Cecil was a cherished son, father, grandfather, nephew, cousin, and beloved significant other.

A passionate fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cecil found joy in sports and family gatherings. He loved cooking for his family, delighting in moments spent playing with his grandsons, going fishing with his daughter Zaniah, and watching and playing basketball alongside his son Zakhi. These simple pleasures were the heart of his happiness.

Cecil was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Dave Davison and Hulet Gates Jr., grandmother Daisy Kenney, aunts Toya, Gwendolyn, and Marcia, and uncle Keith.

He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his mother, Donetta; children Ceizelaja (CeCe), Dezman, Zakhi, and Zaniah Davison; grandsons, Nasir and Lameir Hill, and Dezman Davison Jr.; his devoted significant other of 19 years, Lauren Schultz; special brothers LaSean Barnes and Shawn Meek; and dear cousins Comekco Kenney, Craig Kenney, Gary Madison Jr., and Kizzey Cody, along with a host of other family members, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Cecil Davison Jr. touched many lives with his kindness, warmth, and joy. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor to know and love him. His spirit lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, and all are invited to celebrate a life marked by love, dedication, and happiness.
