Jerry Triplett passed away at The Ohio State University Hospital on February 1, 2026. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 23, 1953, to George David Triplett Sr and Juanita Luetha (Parker) Triplett. Following education from South High School, he served in the Army for many years and was discharged under honorable conditions. During his life, Jerry loved the Lord and had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. As a child he attended East Mount Olivet Baptist Church. He was a member of United Faith International Baptist Church (UFI) located in Columbus, Ohio.

In his union with Alice Johnson Triplett, he was blessed with the birth of their three children and a family grounded in love. He valued family deeply and was a devoted family man. Later in life he was blessed with Andre and Chardonae.

Jerry was a man of business. He owned several independent stores that supplied needs such as clothing and great food options. He was your favorite neighborhood ice cream man and provided lawn care services. He was known for his famous family gatherings where he enjoyed music, laughter, good food and creating great memories. In his own way he served as a role model to his nieces and nephew dropping gems that would last a lifetime. He loved to travel with his cousin Mark and sister Daphne spending time with family and friends. He loved all his cousins. He especially shared many memories with his cousins, Mark Johnson, Roger “Chubby” Patterson, Gwendolyn and Ghitana Mitchell, Sherrill Robison and Leila Parker.

Jerry is proceeded in death by his parents George and Juanita Triplett, brothers George David Triplett Jr and Michael Triplett; sisters Joyce (LaVerne), Valerie (Mae) Triplett, and Shelia Robinson all of Columbus Oh.

Our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend will be remembered and dearly missed by family and friends including his children Jerry Triplett Jr., Kristina Triplett (Nakia Hall), Greg Triplett, Andre Patterson and Chardonae Allison, a host of grandchildren, brothers Lester, Eugene, Daryll and sister Daphne Triplett, two special friends of many years Michelle Ellicott and Marla Glover.
