Cecil Ray Hargrove, age 87, passed away on September 26, 2025, at Sulphur, Okla. Interment services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 3, 2025, at the Seaman First Class Billy Turner Veterans Cemetery, Ardmore, Okla., with Dr. James Mitchell, Minister, officiating.

Cecil was born on September 10, 1938, at Atoka, Oklahoma, to William Earnest Hargrove and Nettie Florence (Housewright) Hargrove Payne. Cecil enlisted into the US Navy on January 31, 1956, and he worked as a Boiler Repairman on the U.S.S. Currier, Destroyer Class. Cecil was honorably discharged from service in September of 1959. He loved hunting, fishing, and was an avid bowler. He held a 300 Ring and a 298 Ring and numerous patches and awards. Cecil was a General Motors Master Mechanic and could fix most anything.

He was preceded in death by his father, William E. Hargrove, mother, Nettie F. Hargrove Payne, brothers, Argus Lee "PeeWee" Hargrove and Buford Clyde "Bunk" Hargrove, and sisters, Audrey Faye Long and Lois Mae Netherton.

Cecil is survived by his children: Tammy Smith of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Eddie Owen of Winchester, Virginia, LaRisa Fales of Lovington, New Mexico, and Stanley Hargrove of Arizona. Sisters, Linda Knight of Spokane, Washington, Ellen Davis, and husband Alvin, of Spokane, and Evelyn York of Colbert, Oklahoma, and sister-in-law, Delores "Dee" Hargrove.
