Mr. Cecil Wayne Hatcher, 78, of Scottsburg, VA, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2024. He was born on March 31, 1946, in Halifax County to the late Roy Swanson Hatcher Sr. and the late Lorene Powell Hatcher. He was married to Linda Chaney Hatcher who survives. Mr. Hatcher was a member of the Baptist faith. In his free time Cecil enjoyed hunting, restoring cars, and raising his cattle. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.

A funeral service will be held Friday, December 27, 2024, 2:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jennifer Clatterbuck officiating. A visitation will be held at Powell Funeral Home Thursday December 26, 2024, from 7-8:30 PM and the family will receive friends’ other times at the home. Burial will follow the funeral service at Oakland Cemetery.
