Cecil Edward “Winnie” Jennings Jr. departed this life on Monday January 5, 2026
Born in Lynchburg, VA on July 20, 1964, Winnie was the oldest child of the late Cecil Edward Jennings, Sr. and Bettie Gay Jennings.
Winnie was a Jack of all trades, with training in Masonry, and working in his early life as a carpenter, professional mover, glazier, and truck driver. He spent the last 30 years working as a Family Care Provider.
In his free time, Winnie enjoyed spending time with family and friends. You could often find him spending time outdoors, in his workshop, or at the range.
In addition to his mother, Winnie is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sheila Jennings, two sons Chris Jennings (Tiffany) and Tyler Jennings, two grandchildren Sean and Callie Jennings, foster sons Brandon and Jonathan, chosen daughter Jamie Pruitt (Andrew), and their children Michael, Carter, and Zack, two brothers Robert (Melanie) Jennings, Jason (Carrie) Jennings, one sister Ashley Watkins, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
