Cecil Martin, age 89 of Clinton, Tn passed away on Friday May 16, 2025, in Oak Ridge, Tn. Cecil was born on June 12, 1935, in Clinton, Tn to the late Ernest Clyde and Della Mae Martin. Cecil loved gardening and cooking. He was a member of Deep Springs Baptist Church where he loved to sing Tenor. Cecil loved his family very much. Cecil worked for Y-12 as a Machinist Cleaner.
Along with his parents Cecil is preceded in death by his brother’s Roy Martin and Leon Martin, sisters Mildred Kite and Irene Martin. Cecil is survived by his wife of 68 years Willie Martin of Clinton, TN. Son Cecil Kenneth Martin and wife Angela of Heiskell, TN, Daughter Cathy Harmon and husband Charles of Rockwood, TN, brother R.L. Martin and wife Betty of Wisconsin, sisters Thelma Grace Nolan of Oak Ridge, TN, and Ernest Lou Riggs of Knoxville, TN. Grandchildren Amanda Boyd and husband Daniel of Kingston, Tn. Great grandchildren Camren Sitzler and wife Olivia of Kingston, Tn, Emma Boyd and Brayden Boyd. Great Great Grandchildren Harper Sitzler.
The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday May 21, 2025, from 5-7 pm in the Chapel of Jones Mortuary with the funeral to follow at 7pm with rev. Dale Parker officiating. The family will meet at Jones Mortuary on Thursday May 22, 2025, at 1pm to go in procession to Taylor Cemetery in Clinton for a 2 pm graveside service.
