Cecil Moon, a devoted husband, father, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on October 24, 1939, to Ray Moon and June Moon (Hambrick). Cecil's life was characterized by kindness, faithfulness, and a deeply ingrained sense of love for his family.
Cecil’s dedication to his family was evident in every aspect of his life. He was a loving and involved father, committed not only to raising his children but also to supporting them in their endeavors. His proudest accomplishment was his long and happy marriage to Huberta, the love of his life. Together, they shared an extraordinary journey that spanned 69 wonderful years, during which they raised a beautiful family and created countless cherished memories.
Cecil proudly served in the Air Force 8 years, an experience that shaped much of his character and work ethic. Following his military service, he pursued a successful career as a product development engineer.
Cecil was a man of many passions; he loved airplanes and worked on them in the service. He was also an active member of his church community, where he could be seen every Sunday, both participating in Sunday school and driving the church bus. His involvement in church life illustrated his commitment to serving others and his faith.
He is survived by his loving wife, Huberta Moon; children, Wendell Moon and wife Chaunn, Russell Moon and wife Machelle; grandchildren, Taylor Beasley and husband Jonathan, Bailey Kiser and husband Kyle, Jordan Thomas and husband Al, Brittany Burgess and husband Josh, Megan Moon, Corey Moon, Jordan McReynolds, Andrew Jesko and wife Lindsey; siblings, Carol Kennedy, Frankie Moon, Bub Moon, great-grandchildren, Kinlee Wright, Hartlee Beasley, Wyatt Beasley, Lawsyn Kiser, Rachel Thomas, Timothy Thomas, Keena Burgess, Daxton Burgess, Leeah McReynolds, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Cecil is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and June Moon.
Cecil Moon will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his faithfulness to his family, and his loving spirit. He leaves behind a legacy that will forever resonate with all who knew him
