Thomas Leo "Buzz" Moon

Thomas Leo "Buzz" Moon passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening January 27, 2026 at the age of 81 while at his home in Middleburg, FL. Mr. Moon was born November 28, 1944 in Gulfport, MS and later resided in Knoxville TN for most of his adult life before moving to Trussville, AL and finally Middleburg, FL. Mr. Moon served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the Navy. He was happily married for 61 years to his high school sweetheart, Linda O'Guin, and together they raised 3 children. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and spent his working life in sales and management for Nestle Purina. Mr. Moon was also a faithful servant of Jesus Christ and member of the First Baptist Church in Middleburg, FL (FBC Middleburg).

Mr. Moon was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Mathilde Moon as well as his sister Kathleen Keith. He is survived by his wife, Linda O. Moon (Middleburg, FL); two sons and daughters-in-law, William T. and Dana Moon (Taylorsville, KY) and Christopher and Kim Moon (Riverside, AL), and daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Eric Friday; Grandchildren Daphne Hurst (Hunter Hurst), Taylor Miller (Seth Miller), William W. Moon, Byron Moon, Savannah Notes (Adam Notes) and Delaney Friday. Mr. Moon is also survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law John and Jo Peckinpaugh and Mike and Susan Davis (Andrew's, NC) as well as one brother-in-law and sister-in-law Michael and Kathleen O'Guin.

After a private burial in Knoxville, TN, Mr. Moon's family will gather for a celebration of life at FBC Middleburg, FL (date forthcoming).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be made to either FBC Middleburg or the Orange Park Parkinson's Support Group.
