Orville Dunaway Obituary
He was born in Knoxville, TN, on January 29, 1947, to parents Okey and Sue Dunaway.
He attended and graduated from Karns High School in 1965, and later attended the University of Tennessee. After high school, he joined the United States Navy, where he proudly served for six years. While serving, he earned the National Defense Service Medal.After his military career, he worked as a maintenance supervisor for K25 for over 32 years, where he later retired.
Hayes enjoyed fishing, cooking, stained glass making, and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Okey and Sue Dunaway; his son, Douglas Dunaway; his grandson, Keith Dunaway; and his sisters, Glenda and Beverly Dunaway.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Martha Dunaway; his son, Michael (Pam) Dunaway; his granddaughter, Jennifer (Daniel) Sherritze; his granddaughter-in-law, Lori (Keith) Dunaway; and his great-grandchildren, Braden, Colton, Lexi Graves, and Taylor Dunaway.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Click Funeral Home Middlebrook Chapel (9020 Middlebrook Pike, Knoxville, TN 37923). A graveside service with military honors will take place at 4:00 PM on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park (1501 Bethel Valley Rd, Oak Ridge, TN 37830). Pastor Teresa Atkins McClure will officiate the graveside service.
