Ruth Quinto Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Click Funeral Home & Cremations - Middlebrook Chapel on Mar. 18, 2026.
Ruth Quinto, 86, peacefully entered the presence of God on Tuesday morning, March 17, 2026.

Ruth was born Ruth Ferruggio and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 63 years, Vincent "Vinnie" Quinto, her parents Frances and Lawrence Ferruggio, and her brother Charles Ferruggio.

Ruth was born in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in Queens, later moving to Long Island with her parents. In 1995, Ruth and her husband Vincent moved to Tennessee along with their children and grandson, where they continued building a life centered around faith and family.

Ruth was known for her warm spirit, joyful laughter, and bubbly personality. She had a way of making people feel welcome and loved wherever she was. Family was always the center of her world, and her greatest joy was being surrounded by the people she loved most.

Ruth began her career with the New York Telephone Company. She later worked for many years as a hairstylist, building relationships with those she served, and eventually continued her care for others through in-home health care.

Some of the most cherished memories of Ruth are in the kitchen, where she expressed her love through cooking and gathering her family around the table.

Ruth's life was deeply rooted in her faith in Jesus. She was a devoted member of Cornerstone Church of God, where she formed many meaningful friendships and faithfully shared her love for others. In her earlier years in New York, she also faithfully served in her church by playing the piano, using her gifts to bless those around her.

Ruth is survived by her daughters Sharon Farruggia-Paige (Robert Paige) and Joy Hamlett (Brad). She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren David Aruta (Kelly) and Gracie, Ben, Ella, and Noah Hamlett. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren Ryder and Beckham Aruta, with another great-grandchild expected in September.

She is also survived by her identical twin sister Martha Catura, her younger sister Gloria Sims, and her sister-in-law Eiosa Ferruggio, who was like a sister to her, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

Ruth was blessed with many dear friendships and will be fondly remembered by her church family and many friends.

Ruth will be remembered for the warmth she brought into every room, the love she poured into her family, and the steady faith that guided her life.

Her legacy lives on through the family she cherished, the lives she shaped, and the love she gave so freely.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 22nd, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cornerstone Church of God, 12813 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37934, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 7:00 PM. Pastor Steve McCullar will officiate. A graveside service will be held at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on Monday morning at 10:00 AM.
