His wife, Florence Lee Samples (nee Hamm), sisters: Beatrice Spaulding and Doris Jean Shouse preceded him in death along with his great-grandchild Mekaela Kenney. Survivors include his daughters: Vicki Cecile Lasley (Patrick) of Burlington and Kimberly Diane Speagle (Rusty) of Burlington, grandchildren: Christopher Kenney (Becci), Jason Kenney and LeeAnn Clarke (Philip), great-grandchildren: Caitlin Kenney, Landon Kenney, Conner Kenney, Jamison Clarke, Grayson Clarke and Maddox and Eli Kenney.
Visitation and funeral will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 10am to 2pm with funeral services immediately following at Burlington Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Burlington Cemetery with military honors. Following the burial, a reception will be held at Burlington Baptist Church Activity Center. Memorial contributions may be made to Burlington Baptist Church, 3031 Washington St. Burlington, KY 41005. Online condolences can be left at www.LinnemannFuneralHomes.com

Coming from a family member, Huston was always a loving man, devoted to God. I always enjoyed talking with him because he always had a smile on his face. Our families were devoted to farming the land.

Huston was a neighbor and one of my first employers where I worked on his farm. He worked hard and expected the same. He was a good man like my Dad, which added a lot of good influence in my life.
In all the years I knew him, I never saw him become angry with anyone. He did seem a little perturbed when half of his barn collapsed just after hanging it full of tobacco, but was the most gracious man all the time, but particularly when we all came together to rebuild and re-hang.
Thank you Huston for helping me embrace the joy of friendship and a job well done.
