Joyce V. Samples

Joyce Velma Samples, age 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 14th, 2025. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Joyce was a dedicated servant to the Lord. She was a member of Daves Creek Baptist Church where she served as the clerk of the Sunday School for over twenty years and sang in the choir. Joyce was a staple at Goodson Drugs for over thirty years. Joyce was an avid scrabble player. She is preceded in death by her parents, Agbert and Irene Cash; husband, Odath Samples; brother, Royce Cash; beloved dog, Ellie Mae.

She is survived by her son, Doug Samples; grandchildren, Blake (Angela) Samples, Megan (Joseph) Parsons; grandchildren, Rachel, Taylor, Jessie; sisters, Judy Bennett, Sarah Ann Cash; many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th, 2025, at 11:00 AM, in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Carrell Pruitt, Rev. Dusty Holtzclaw, and Rev. Michael Cantrell officiating. The interment will follow in the cemetery of Daves Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, from 12:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and again on Friday from 9:00 AM, until the hour of service.
