Beverly Samples

Beverly (Cramer) Samples, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, February 12, 2026 in rural Galion, Ohio. She was 93 years old.

She was born in Mansfield to the late Cecil and Florance (Baer) Cramer and was a lifelong resident of the area. On February 17, 1951, she married the love of her life, Lilburn Daniel "Dan" Samples. Together they shared 71 devoted years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. Beverly was his constant partner and greatest supporter.

Beverly was a proud graduate of Mansfield Senior High School with the class of 1950 and dedicated her life to caring for her home and raising their six children. She had a great sense of humor and made sure the family was taken care of well.

She worked a few places including for Dr. Brown in Crestline as a secretary, as well as worked at the hospital and Rosewood Manor.

Beverly enjoyed staying busy and keeping her mind active. She loved bowling, as well as Wii bowling, and the friendships she made along the way. At home, she spent many happy hours cross-stitching, crocheting, and embroidering, often making special gifts for her family. She also enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and challenging herself with crossword and Sudoku puzzles. Reading was one of her favorite ways to relax, and she was rarely without a good book nearby.

Beverly also gave more than 20 years of service to the Women's Auxiliary at the local hospital. During that time, she served as Second Vice President, Chairwoman, and Treasurer. She also served as recording secretary for Daughter of America, Council 228 of Galion and also served as district secretary. She was proud to support the hospital and valued the friendships she formed through her years of volunteer work.

She is survived by six children, Brenda Gosser, Bruce (Brenda) Samples, Bradley (Dena) Samples, Brent Samples, Barry (Frances) Samples, Timothy Samples and friend Lynda; eleven grandchildren, Kevin Gosser, Mike Gosser, Steve Gosser, Greg Gosser, Amy Hackedorn, Shanna Stapleton, Monica Steele, Taelhr Bell, Parkerr Samples, Kaine Houchens, Joshua Jones, Jeff Bisel and Josh Bisel; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild with one on the way; brother Doug (Carol) Cramer; brother-in-law Thomas "Art" Snyder as well as numerous extended family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dan Samples; sister Joyce Snyder; daughter-in-law Teri Samples; son-in-law Paul Gosser.

The Samples family will receive friends on Dan and Beverly's anniversary date, Tuesday, February 17, 2026 in the Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, (218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833) from 4pm-7pm. A funeral service celebrating Beverly's life will begin promptly at 7pm with Pastor Chris Bell officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her memory.
