Cecil Smith

Cecil Smith of Bokchito, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the age of 78. He was born on Saturday, April 26, 1947 in Durant, Oklahoma to Rosa Lee (Taylor) and JD Smith.
He was a longtime resident of Bokchito, Oklahoma. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and worked in logistics, prior to retiring. He married his wife Joy Elaine (Rose) on November 30, 1968 in Blue, Oklahoma. He was of strong Christian faith and loved his church. He was a dedicated member of LifeSong Church for many years.
Cecil was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed reading the newspaper, woodworking, and tending to his cows.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rosa Lee (Taylor) and JD Smith; sister Kaye Yandell; and brother Ronnie Smith.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Joy Smith of the home; son Craig Smith and wife Darla of Bokchito, Oklahoma; daughter Amy Smith of Edmond, Oklahoma; brother Jack Smith and wife Jeanene of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren Kyle Dancer and wife Taylor, Drew Smith and wife Taylor, Daylen Smith and wife Jaselyn; great grandchildren Addison, Annebelle, Jessie, Cason, Wylder; numerous nieces, nephews, as well as other extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at the Gordon Center (LifeSong Church) 305 N 2nd Ave, Durant, Oklahoma with Rev. Bill Carr officiating.
