Michael W. Rosson of Calera, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026. He was born on June 23, 1945 in El Paso, Texas.

He was a resident of Calera, Oklahoma for 10 years and previously of Austin, Texas. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as a medic. After the Air Force, he chose to work as a critical care nurse. While working in El Paso, he was certified in running an artificial kidney machine that was later instrumental in developing the organ donor program. He worked at OneLegacy, a transplant donor network in Southern California, based in the Redlands. In 1996 he was promoted to Regional Director as procurement transplant coordinator at Texas Organ Sharing Association. His lifesaving work touched the lives of over 1800 recipients before retiring and moving to Oklahoma.

He then married Mary Hellen (Lester) in Febuary, 2014 in Caddo, Oklahoma.

Michael had a passion for motorcycles. He enjoyed riding, racing, and restoring motorcycles. His favorite bike was a Norton. He and his brother, Joe restored an original 1941 BSA, from World War II, a Desert Rat that is held in an Army Museum in Austin, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents Marian Barbara (Lockett) and Joseph Aaron Rosson; and brother Joe Rosson.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Rosson; sons Michael, Jimmy and daughter Lisa Rosson; stepdaughters Melody Ellis and husband Michael, Cindy Hall as well as other extended family and friends.

His ashes will be spread on the red sands of the El Paso Sand Dunes with his brother's ashes, where they rode as young boys and can continue to ride the dunes forever.
