Cecil C. Stephenson, a Marine Veteran, husband and father, age 87, of Brenham, Texas passed away Monday, September 22, 2025.
Cecil was born on August 2, 1938, in Raceland, Kentucky, to Cecil and Margaret (Hicks) Stephenson. He graduated from Raceland High School in 1956 and went on to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1957 to 1960, achieving the rank of Lance Corporal. During his service, he specialized in aircraft mechanics, a skill that later guided him into a career with Pratt Whitney Aircraft along with working at Rockwell Space Center.

His faith was central to his life, and he served as a preacher at the children's church at First Baptist Church in Brenham. He had a fondness and love for children.
A true outdoorsman, Cecil enjoyed rabbit and squirrel hunting in the foothills of Kentucky and also spent time hunting hogs in the swamps of Florida. He had a deep love of nature and a passion for college basketball, especially March Madness. Cecil also loved riding his motorcycle with Jennifer riding by his side. He proudly rode alongside the Christian Motorcyclists Association. Cecil loved Mark Twain and Louis L'Amour paperback books. He enjoyed writing short stories and poems for those he loved. Known for his storytelling, he delighted and charmed those around him with his wild tales and sense of humor.
He is preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Margaret Stephenson and sister Wanda Smiley.
