Cecile M. Bishop

1923 - 2013 ADAMS Cecile M. (Cardonnel) Bishop, 89, of 160 North Summer St., died early Tuesday morning, July 16, 2013, at Albany (NY) Medical Center.

She was born in Adams on Aug. 30, 1923, a daughter of Omer and Mary (Gazaille) Cardonnel, and attended Adams schools, including the former Notre Dame School.

Mrs. Bishop was primarily a homemaker for most of her life, but had worked for several years at the former Brightwater Paper Co. and its successor, James River Paper Co. in Adams.

She was a communicant of the Parish of Blessed John Paul and its predecessor, the Parish of Notre Dame & St. Thomas Aquinas, Adams, and enjoyed playing Bingo.

Her husband, George P. Bishop, whom she married May 25, 1946, died Oct. 21, 1989.

She is survived by her son, Richard Bishop and his wife, Cheryl, of North Adams; her daughter, Susan Krzeminski, of Adams; three grandchildren, Tracy Beany, Sarah Friese and her husband, Richard, and Cari Krzeminski; four great-grandchildren Justin and Jeremy Beany and Ava and Cameron Friese; a sister, Marguerite Lipinski of Adams; a brother, Bernard Cardonnel of Conover, N.C., and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Josephine Tetreault.
