Cecile Hazelwood Ingram went to be with Jesus on December 31, 2023 at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.C. Ingram, Jr.
She was born in Halifax County on June 14, 1932 to the late Robert Samuel Hazelwood and the late Elizabeth Terry Hazelwood.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her sisters Louise Whitlow and Myrtle Trammell and her brothers Aubrey Hazelwood, Elmer Hazelwood, and Willie Hazelwood.
Cecile worked for 33 years at Daystrom Furniture, 12 years at Lasco Bathware, and for a number of years in the local textile mills.
She enjoyed growing a garden, canning and freezing vegetables, yard work, bowling, and traveling around the United States.
She is survived by her children, Charles Ingram and his wife Rose of Jonesville, VA and Gary Ingram and his wife Sandra of Disputanta, VA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Justin Ingram and his wife Angela of Herndon, VA, Stephanie Ingram of Charlottesville, VA and Laura Ingram of Disputanta, VA. She is also survived by good friends and neighbors Debbie and David Compton.
Cecile was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM on Friday January 5, 2024 at Asbury United Methodist Church. Services will be conducted by Rev. Ken Hanson and by Rev. Bryant Wilburn. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, 1:00PM-2:00PM at Asbury United Methodist Church.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for the wonderful care and kindness provided to Cecile by Lee Health & Rehab in Pennington Gap, VA and prior to this by caregivers Dorraine Hogue, Pearl Petty, Violet Satterfield, Mary Alice Dunn, Betty Chappell, and Shirley Harris.
