WOODFIN – Cecile Yvonne Lamb, 72, of Woodfin, NC, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Mission Hospital. She was born in Buncombe County on November 18, 1951, to the late James Cecil Lunsford and Ethel Elizabeth Corn Lunsford.
In addition to her parents, Cecile is preceded in death by the love of her life, Billy Ray Lamb, Sr.; sister, Clara Lunsford; and grandson, Billy Ray Lamb, III.
She is survived by her children, Billy Lamb, Jr. (Wilma), Shena Lamb, and Tony Lamb (Jennifer); sisters, Joan Smith of Asheville, and Ann Bailey (Richard) of Weaverville; grandchildren, Bethany (John), Ronnie, Vanessa (Ben), Zakk (Brittany), Christian (Kota), Katee (Alex), Jake (Kayle), Jordan, Austin (Sammie), Evan (Jasmine) and Roman; and great-grandchildren, Hunter (Alanna), Dustin, Riley, Jace, Kinslee, Hayden, JJ, Bella, Savannah, Averee, Ruthie, Walker, Everlee, and Abel.
Cecile worked for Ball Corporation from 1976 – 1993 and then for Mountain Energy for many years. She attended Freedom Christian Church until she was no longer physically able to.
Cecile/Mom/Nana was the most caring and loving of them all. She will be greatly missed.
Cecile’s funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in the Chapel at West Funeral Home. Pastor Donna Buckner will officiate. The family will have visitation at 1:30 p.m. just prior to the service. Burial will follow at West Memorial Park.
