Cecilia Fabro Bruzzese passed away peacefully in her home on October 8, 2025.
Cecilia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who lived a life rooted in family and service to others. A long-time resident of Clintonville and a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Church, Cecilia gave generously of her time and heart. She served as a lector and Eucharistic minister, was an active member of the IC Women’s Club, and was a cherished worker in the after-care program. For many years, she also volunteered at the James Cancer Hospital, offering kindness and comfort to patients on the outpatient chemotherapy floor.
Cecilia’s greatest joy was her family. Married to her beloved Mike for 74 wonderful years, she raised five children and created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and the smell of her home-cooked meals. Gathering family around the dining room table for Sunday dinners, holidays, and birthdays were some of her happiest moments. Cecilia loved family beach vacations and any opportunity to bring everyone together. Proud of her Italian heritage, she not only passed down her recipes but a legacy of generosity, love, and “sempre famiglia.”
Cecilia is preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Lydia Fabro; brothers Louis and Victor; brothers-in-law Vince, Sebastian, Tony, and John; sister-in-law Clara; and her beloved son, Michael (October 5, 1999). She will be deeply missed by her loving husband Mike; daughter Vicki (Craig); sons Chris (Diane), David (Rose), and John; grandchildren Sarah (Devin), Cecilia (Wyatt), Nick (Kim), Alana (Noah), Rachel, Madie, and Mike; and great-grandchildren Dominic, Patrick, Cecilia, Ruby, Josephine, and Lydia.
Family and friends will celebrate Cecilia’s life at a Memorial Mass on Tuesday, October 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, followed by a lunch reception in IC Marian Hall. In honor of her generous spirit, memorial donations may be made to the Holy Family Soup Kitchen. Holy Family Donation Link
