Cecilia Dib Obituary
She was born January 21, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of John and Stella Welker.
On August 10, 1957, Cecilia married the love of her life, Joseph Dib. They were married for 35 years.
Cecilia worked at Sveden House restaurant as head of the salad department, where she made great friends and fun memories. It's there where she met and became best friends with Dora Szymborski.
She loved her cats, gardening, spending time with her friends and her '78 Baby Blue Ford Thunderbird. Most of all, she enjoyed creating loving and precious memories with her entire family.
Cecilia has now joined her husband Joe and son Mark in God's heavenly kingdom.
Left to cherish her loving memory are her children Kathleen Dib and Kimberly (Bruce) Baker; grandchildren Ashley Dib, Nicole (Shawn) Johnston, Chelsea (Kyle) Robilliard, Joseph Dib and Emma Baker, great grandchildren Brooklyn & Brady Johnston as well as her daughter-in-law Doreen Dib and Cecilia's older sister Emily Newcomer.
She is preceded in death by her siblings Jean Terpening, John Welker, Frank Welker, Daniel Welker, Dorothy Shefke, Theresa Shefke and Mary Abbatoy.
Visitation will take place on Friday, November 29, 2024 from 4-8pm with a Prayer Service at 6pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc., 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile). Funeral Services will be held at Christ Church Detroit (960 E. Jefferson Ave., Detroit, Michigan 48207 on Saturday, November 30, 2024 with Instate starting at 10am and the Service starting at 10:30am. Luncheon will take place at Christ Church following the service.
The family has invited all guests of to wear the color blue to the Visitation and Funeral Service in memory of Cecilia and her favorite color.
