Cecilia Pearline Gillett

Cecilia Pearline Workman Gillett was born August 24, 1937, at Benkelman, Nebraska as an only child to Cecil Albert Workman and Violet Abigail Workman. Pearline passed away in Wray, Colorado July 21, 2025. She Attended the Haigler, Nebraska schools until she graduated in 1955 as valedictorian. Then she went to work as a bank teller at the First National Bank in Wray, Colorado where she met Patricia Gillett who introduced her to the love of her life, Lester Holles Gillette. The two dated for about a year and married September 16, 1956, at the First Methodist Church in Haigler, Nebraska. To this union two children were born, Theresa Lynn Gillett and Cindy Lee Gillett. Theresa married Peter Greene of Boulder City, Nevada, no children were born to this union. Cindy married Timothy Hicks of Culpeper, Virginia and to this union one son was born, Kevin Christopher Hicks who married Alexandera Claire Hicks and to this union one son, David Alexander Hicks was born. Pearline traveled quite a bit; from a farm here in Wray, Colorado to Seattle, Washington to Page, Arizona to Boulder City, Nevada, and then back to Wray, Colorado. She was always business-like and always rose to the top of the companies she worked for. She was Personelle Director for JC Penny in Las Vegas and eventually became Personelle Director for the Stardust Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and both her daughters. She is survived by one son in law, one grandson, and his wife along with one great grandson.
