Michael Campbell Gillett

Michael Campbell Gillett, 65 of King William County died on August 24, 2025 after a long battle with cancer. He was a loving husband and devoted father. Born in Arizona, he was the son of the late Franklin Louis Gillett Sr. and Janet Campbell Gillett of Midlothian. He is survived by his wife, Anita P Gillett; children, Aaron Gillett, Olivia Jones (Matt), and Michael Gillett Jr.; brother, Franklin Gillett Jr. (Teri); sister, Alisa Mustian (Paul); grandchildren, Easton Gillett, Emma and Davie Jones; nieces and nephews, David and Christine Gillett, Diana Muntean (Frankie), Laura Hardwick (Jeremy), Emily, Jamie, and Lou Mustian; great nieces and nephews, Sophie, Ethan, Bentley, Tessa, Eliza and Brodee. Mike was a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in Environmental Science but spent most of his undergraduate years at Virginia Tech. He started his career at Southern States and then worked for Nationwide until he retired in 2024. Mike loved being home with his family. As his children grew up, he connected with their friends, earning the name "Master Mike" and "dad". He was known as Poppy to his grandchildren and took great joy in introducing them to computer games and stirring up a little trouble. He enjoyed conversations with his friends around the country and relaxed coffee times with his neighbors.

The visitation will be at the Gethsemane Church of Christ in Mechanicsville, VA on Wednesday, September 3rd at 10 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11am. Burial private.
