It is with heavy hearts that we celebrate the life of Cedric Lamar Peterson (Ced,
PD), who passed away on February 4, 2025, at the age of 56. His parents were
Diane Peterson and Earl Barnes. He was a beloved son, sibling, friend and a
cherished member of the Peterson family. Cedric attended Atlanta Public Schools,
graduating from Northside High School in 1985.
Born on December 10, 1968, in Atlanta, GA, Ced was known for his kindness,
strength, and unwavering love for family and friends. PD shared a very special
bond with his mother and brother. He touched the lives of many by passionately
helping the elderly, attentively caring for his mother's needs, and readily offering a
helping hand when needed. Growing up, he excelled in basketball. He frequently
kept a ball under his arm, ready to play the game. Although Ced was sociable and
funny, often telling jokes to keep you laughing, he was also a very private person.
Cedric was employed as a driver at DDLJ Non-Emergency Transportation.
Cedric was preceded in death by his father, Earl Barnes; grandmother, Louise
Hawkins and great grandmother, Georgia Mae Morgan.
Cedric leaves behind his mother, Diane Peterson; a brother, Isiah Collins, Jr.; a
sister, Michelle Stalling; a niece, Jewell Stalling; a nephew, Covousier Stalling;
aunts, Robin Jones, Peggy Barnes, Lethia Burden and honorary aunt, Carol
Rush; and a host of other family and friends. Though Cedric may no longer be
with us in person, his spirit and love will forever remain in our hearts. May his
soul rest in eternal peace.
