Celeste Bell, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, in
Chesapeake, Virginia, at the age of 71. Born on December 28, 1953, in
Norfolk, Virginia, she was cherished by all who knew her.
Celeste devoted her life to the care and nurturing of her family as a dedicated homemaker. Her home was always filled with warmth and love, traits that she shared generously with her children and grandchildren.
In her younger years, Celeste found joy in dancing at local bars alongside her brother Russell, where together they created treasured memories. She also shared fun and friendly competition in a bowling league with her brother Gordon, enjoying their time together both on and off the lanes. Celeste spent many happy moments playing bingo with her sisters, Laloni and Anne, cherishing those times of laughter and camaraderie.
She is preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Evelyn Williams, parents, William Leslie Heffner and Evelyn Mae Heffner; her brother, Billy Heffner; and her sister, Anne Gyoker
Celeste is survived by her loving son, David Prince, and daughter, Angel Prince. She leaves behind cherished grandchildren Cody Turner, Devin, and Chase Schlegel, Ian Prince, Jason Peregino, Ciarra Prince, and Antonio Peregrino, along with her grandchildren, Mitchel Whitney, Damien Jones and Ariana Williams and great-grandchildren Natalie, J.R., Brooklyn, Jason Jr., and Penny. Celeste is also remembered by her dear siblings: brothers Russell and Gordon, and sisters Pat, Caroline, and Laloni. Also cherished by nieces and nephews around the country.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Tamara Schlegel for her unwavering support and kindness over the past few years. Her dedication and compassion have been a source of strength and comfort to Celeste and her family.
