Celia Franco Garris

Celia "Sally" F. Garris, 91, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, went to be with our Lord on February 1, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents Eduardo and Marta Franco, her nine older siblings, and her husband A. David Garris.

She was born January 9, 1935 and raised on the family farm in Old Mesilla, New Mexico and later raised her family in Anthony, New Mexico. Celia resided in Albuquerque for over 30 years.

She loved life and cherished time with family and friends. Upon meeting her, she considered you a friend. She loved to laugh and had a zest for life. She was an amazing cook and made sure you never went home hungry.

Celia had a love of music and was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church choir for many years.

She instilled great values in each of her kids and was proud of her entire family.

She is survived by her six kids: Joe, Terry (Ted), Carmen (Mike), Sylvia (Lencho), Ruben (Christina), Christina (Danny), ten grandkids, nine great-grandkids, numerous nieces and nephews, and Sophie, her beloved fur baby.

A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 - Our Lady of the Assumption, Albuquerque, NM at 10:30am. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026 - San Albino Church, Old Mesilla, NM at 11:00am with an interment to follow.
