Celia Adrienne Smith was born in Cleveland, OH on April 25, 1959, at University Hospital MacDonald Women’s Hospital to Iona Chunn Smith and Prince Jackson Smith. She lived a full and fruitful life as a very strong Christian and a genuine lover of mankind. She departed this life in the early morning of November 25, 2023.
Celia graduated from Lutheran High School East in 1977. She attended Capital University and Ursuline College, where she received a bachelor’s degree. She went on to receive a master’s degree from Case Western Reserve University. She was employed as a Clinical Social Worker at the Veterans Administration.
A strong Christian faith and an enthusiastic willingness to pray for others brought Celia great joy and peace. She was aggressive in seeking out those who were in need of prayer support; with a completely giving heart, she supplied it. She was a person who found happiness by serving others. Celia also played seven different musical instruments.
On her faith walk, Faithful Central Church in Inglewood, California and The Word Church in Warrensville Heights, Ohio were her service areas.
Celia is an only child and is survived by her mother, Iona Chunn Smith; Cousins: Dr. Tracey L. Chunn, Jay Carrington Chunn, Taylor Chunn, Lauren Chunn Felton, Melvin Felton Jr., Carrington Jay Felton and Marin Brynn Felton. Out of touch cousins in the Atlanta, Georgia area and many loving, devoted friends in California. A special Family in Love that helped with the whole of everything.
Funeral Home Viewing: Wednesday December 6 from 12-7pm.
Church Viewing: Thursday December 7 from 10-10:30am.
Funeral Service: Thursday, December 7 at 10:30am. The Word Church, 18903 S. Miles Rd, Warrensville Hts., OH.
Interment: Highland Park Cemetery
