In Loving Memory of Celida "Sally" M. Adcock
December 25, 2025 | Age 96
Celida "Sally" M. Adcock passed peacefully on Christmas Day, December 25, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering strength.
Born in Puerto Rico to Antonio Medina Rodriguez and Josefina Negron Medina, Sally was the second eldest of eleven children. From her earliest years, she carried herself with grace, resilience, and a deep devotion to family-qualities that remained constant throughout her life.
In 1956, she married the love of her life, Kenneth Ray Adcock, a Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. Known to him affectionately as "Sally," she embraced the life of a military wife with pride and adaptability. During Kenneth's distinguished career, she lived in numerous states and countries, most notably Madrid, Spain, before the couple retired in 1985 and made their home in North Dover. Kenneth preceded her in death on February 11, 1995, but their love endured in her heart for the remainder of her life.
Sally worked as a cosmetic sales associate at the Base Exchange at Dover Air Force Base, where her elegance, warmth, and friendly spirit made her a favorite among customers and colleagues alike. In the 1990s, she became an active member of the Modern Maturity Center, where she found joy in line dancing, volunteering, and supporting her senior community. She was also a proud member of the Red Hat Society, embracing fellowship, fun, and a zest for living.
Sally was known for her lively personality and love of life. She often joked that her nightly scotch was the secret to her longevity, a sentiment shared with a wink and a smile. Her joy, humor, and confidence left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Celida; her treasured granddaughter, Kimberly; and her adored great-granddaughter, Madeline. She is also survived by her dear sisters, Lydia, Awilda, and Madeline. Sally's remarkable spirit and enduring legacy will continue to shine through the generations she loved so deeply.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, with details to be announced. Sally's remains will be reunited with her beloved husband, Kenneth, at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, Delaware-together once again.
Forever known as Sally to the man who loved her most, she will be remembered by all for her grace, strength, laughter, and boundless love.
